The myth of Helen through time from Homer to Seferis and her cross-cultural teaching approach at the Lyceum

The purpose of this study is to investigate the function of the myth of Helen in the ancient Greek poets Homer and Euripides and to highlight its indestructible-unchanging power to return to the consciousness of modern writers. Specifically, in Seferis's poem "Helen", the modern poet's particular deep and meaningful interpretation of the signifiers of the myth projects and highlights the present through the dynamic presence of the past in order to teach, redeem and motivate the readers to understand the drama of the modern human. The didactic proposal for the poem "Helen" by Seferis with an emphasis on the intertextuality that ensures the cross-cultural approach of the work, allows the reader to value and appreciate the function and survival of the myth from ancient times to the present day.
