The overall aim of the book is to provide EFL teachers with a working framework for coursebook evaluation based on the materials evaluation literature.
The book starts with a reference to evaluation in education in broad terms and then examines materials evaluation in detail. The need for evaluative consistency is stressed out through the presentation of a number of checklists from the literature that enable EFL teachers to apply efficient and accurate approaches to materials evaluation.
The description and justification of an evaluative framework, i.e. a model teacher and student questionnaire, is also presented so as to provide EFL teachers with a working framework for the evaluation of materials for the teaching of English as a Foreign Language.
