The study surveyed 120 sixth graders in Ioannina, revealing a knowledge gap in understanding the greenhouse effect and greenhouse gases, while showing better awareness of its causes, consequences, and mitigation strategies. During the survey a mixed questionnaire was used with open and closed questions.\r\nOverall, it is observed that there is a lack of knowledge about the greenhouse effect mechanism and the greenhouse gases. On the contrary, students seem to be better informed about the causes and the consequences of the phenomenon and the ways to restrict it.
