Nikolaos Zoumpos

Nicholas C. Zoumbos was born in Volos, Greece in 1948. He studied at the Medical School of Athens University, where he also completed his doctoral dissertation. He received the specialties of Internal Medicine and Hematology. He worked as Professor of Internal Medicine and Hematology at the Medical School of Patras University.
He also worked as researcher in the United States and Canada.
He served as Vice Rector and then as Rector of Patras University, as well as Director of the Department of Medicine of the University Hospital of Patras. He was also elected and served as President of the Council of the University of Thessaly, as well as President of The Hellenic Society of Hematology.
He is married to Kaity Kapatais-Zoumbos and they have three children and six grandchildren. They live at Malaki Magnesia.
