Ioannis Athanasiadis

Yiannis D. Athanasiadis studied at the law school of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he received a scholarship during the first three years of his studies. Then, he did post-graduate studies in commercial law, from where he graduated with honours. Later, he completed his doctoral thesis and was unanimously awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He is a lawyer at the Supreme Court. He has written six other books (including two monographs of a legal nature, two poetic works and a philosophical essay, while a collection of legal texts is in the process of publication) and has published studies or commentaries in legal journals. For a short period he taught at the Institute of Applied Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Macedonia, based in Thessaloniki. He was also a member of the primary Disciplinary Council of the Bar Associations of the district of the Court of Appeal in Thessaloniki. In recent years, he has developed intense social activity, as Chairman and member of social networking associations. He is an active citizen and has participated as a candidate in the national parliamentary elections in Greece.
